PM Modi Suggests Conspiracy Behind Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik's Health Decline, Targets VK Pandian

Speaking at a rally in Baripada, Odisha, PM Modi said that the BJD supremo's "deteriorating health" might be the result of a conspiracy.


Over the years, whenever Naveen Patnaik's close associates get together, they invariably bring up his health. "They inform me that Naveen Babu is incapable of doing anything independently," Prime Minister Modi remarked. The prime minister questioned whether Patnaik's health was caused by a "lobby" that was in charge of the Odisha government on his behalf. It is thought that the comment is a subtle jab at VK Pandian, a close assistant of Patnaik. The BJP has referred to Pandian, a Tamil Nadu native, as a "outsider" in Odisha politics.


Individuals who have known Naveen Patnaik for a long time think there might be a plot behind his declining health. The people of Odisha have a right to know if the lobby enjoying power in the state's background under Naveen Patnaik's name is to blame for his poor health, according to Prime Minister Modi. "If the BJP forms the government in Odisha after the ongoing assembly elections, it will form a committee to ascertain the reason behind the deterioration of Patnaik's health," Modi added.


The comments made by PM Modi coincide with the day that a video of VK Pandian snatching Vik Patnaik's quivering hand during a rally and attempting to cover it up went viral. The BJP swiftly attacked Pandian, claiming that it represented his attempt to seize power. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma described the footage as "deeply distressing" and stated, "VK Pandian ji even controlled the hand movements of Shri Naveen Babu." The amount of influence a retired Tamil Nadu ex-bureaucrat currently has over Odisha's future makes me cringe." Naveen Patnaik responded to the BJP by stating that the party was now concentrating on his hands and was notorious for making insignificant issues into major ones.
