Modi 3.0 Cabinet: New Appointments Announced

Prime Minister Narendra Modi signaled continuity by keeping Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar in control of his new government's four prominent ministries: home, defense, finance, and external affairs. The prime minister chairs the vital Cabinet Committee on Security, which is composed of the four ministers overseeing these responsibilities. Former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been appointed to the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Union Cabinet. Meanwhile, J.P. Nadda, the president of the BJP, has been returned to the Health Ministry, a position he held during the first term of the Modi Government. Nadda assumed leadership of the ruling BJP in 2019 as working president and then as full-fledged president in 2020.


According to an official statement, President Droupadi Murmu followed Mr. Modi's advice while assigning ministries to 72 members of the Union Council of Ministers, including the Prime Minister. On June 10, following his third sworn in as prime minister, Narendra Modi approved the release of the 17th installment of PM Kisan Nidhi by signing his first file. PM Modi declared, "Ours is a Government fully committed to Kisan Kalyan," after approving the document. Thus, it makes sense that the first file to be signed after assuming leadership concerns farmer welfare. In the future, we hope to continue serving farmers and the agriculture industry even more.


As he began his third term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly called former President Pratibha Patil as well as previous prime ministers Manmohan Singh and H.D. Devegowda to ask for their blessings. The Prime Minister had a conversation with them shortly after taking office on Monday morning. At an event held on Sunday night at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Prime Minister Modi and 71 other Ministers, including 30 Cabinet-rank Ministers, took an oath of office. Women and Child Development Ministry is given to Annapurna Devi Chief JP of Jharkhand As part of the third term of the NDA Government, Annapurna Devi has been nominated as the new Minister for Women and Child Development. An official release has identified Savitri Thakur as the new Minister of State in the Ministry of Women and Child Development.


The new ministers have a challenging agenda that includes things like raising the legal age of marriage for women, fighting child and maternal malnutrition, and taking care of women's safety concerns. In this capacity, Ms. Devi, 55, takes over from Smriti Irani. Union New and Renewable Energy Minister is Pralhad Joshi. RK Singh, who lost the Arrah constituency election, has been replaced as the New & Renewable Energy Minister by Pralhad Joshi, a devoted follower of the Rashtriya Sangh Paribas and a longtime BJP employee. Mr. Joshi is from the saffron party's stronghold of Dharwad in Karnataka and has served as a member of parliament five times.


The new Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs is Manohar Lal Khattar. Manohar Lal Khattar has been named the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs in the administration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new Union Cabinet. In the new government, the 70-year-old former chief minister of Haryana will take over for Hardeep Singh Puri, who would continue to hold the position of Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry. The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry is tasked with carrying out a number of initiatives, such as the grandiose Central Vista redevelopment plan, the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), and the centerpiece PM Awas Yojna of the Modi government. Nadda receives Health; Amit Shah keeps the Home Ministry and Rajnath Singh, the Defence Ministry; Shivraj Singh Chouhan becomes the new Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.


The sources further stated that S. Jaishankar and Nirmala Sitharaman kept their respective responsibilities for finance and external affairs. According to the statement, Dharmendra Pradhan would stay on as the Minister of Education and Nitin Gadkari will continue to hold the position of Road Transport Minister.In addition to taking over as Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw has kept her positions as Minister of Railways and Minister of Meity.

M.L. Khattar, the former chief minister of Haryana, gains power, and Kiren Rijiju is given responsibility for parliamentary affairs. According to the announcement, Sarbananda Sonowal will remain the Minister of Shipping. H.D. Kumaraswamy, the former chief minister of Karnataka, will take over as the new minister for steel and heavy industries, with Piyush Goyal staying on as the minister of trade and industry. Rajiv Ranjan Singh of JD(U) receives Panchayati Raj and Animal Husbandry, while former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi receives the MSME Ministry. LJP-RV leader Chirag Paswan receives the Ministry of Food Processing, while TDP leader K. Ram Mohan Naidu is appointed as the new Minister of Civil Aviation. The new Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs is Bandi Sanjay Kumar. G. Kishan Reddy is appointed both Minister of Mines and Minister of Coal. Bandi Sanjay Kumar and G. Kishan Reddy took an oath of office as Cabinet Minister and MoS  on June 9 respectively.


Chief of RLD Jayant Chaudhary is MoS (independent charge) in the Ministries of Education and Skill Development. Jitendra Singh comes returned as a Minister with six ministries, including independent charge for Science and Tech, Earth Sciences, although he will also remain as MoS PMO. Giriraj Singh was given the Textiles ministry, and Jual Oram was given the Tribal Affairs portfolio. The Environment Ministry has been kept by Bhupendra Yadav. Hardeep Singh Puri kept his position as Petroleum Minister, while Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was given the portfolios of Culture and Tourism. In PM Modi's Council of Ministers, K. Ram Mohan Naidu is the youngest and Jitan Ram Manjhi is the oldest.


The newest member of the 18th Lok Sabha is 36-year-old Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, while the oldest member is 79-year-old Jitan Ram Manjhi. The Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) Srikakulam MP, Mr. Naidu, took the oath of office as a Minister of State (MoS) in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's newly formed Council of Ministers. Maharashtra MP Raksha Khadse, 37, is another youthful minister. She was elected to Maharashtra's Raver Lok Sabha seat. In the Modi 3.0 Government, Mr. Manjhi was sworn in as a Minister of the Union Cabinet.
